Paramount+'s Secret Headquarters is a new superhero movie that features an ensemble cast of recognizable actors, led by the talented Owen Wilson.

As Paramount+'s new entry into the superhero genre, Secret Headquarters features a fantastic ensemble cast of actors that audiences will recognize from previous roles, led by the talented Owen Wilson. Debuting on the subscription streaming service on August 12th, Secret Headquarters may not be a blockbuster that would enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe fray, but it's a standalone action-adventure film that highlights the actors and their talent with humor and heart. Rated PG, this family-friendly epic comedy boasts a big budget and a bit of gore that will satisfy the comic book tropes.

Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (Paranormal Activity movie franchise), Secret Headquarters tells the story of a boy named Charlie and his friends as they discover the secret headquarters of the world's most daring superhero, The Guard. There's only one catch: The Guard might be someone they all know very well. While attempting to dodge the advances of villains and their henchmen, Charlie and his gang must do whatever they can to save the world and the identity of The Guard in the process.

Noted for its extraordinary visual effects, Secret Headquarters shows Paramount+'s strength as a streamer of great content. A star-studded group of actors helps lift this superhero flick to heroic proportions while keeping the story grounded from the perspective of its young supporting cast. Here is a guide to help identify these actors and why they might be familiar.

Owen Wilson portrays Jack Kincaid, an IT expert who doubles as The Guard, a superhero similar to Iron Man, who is responsible for saving the world one criminal at a time. During a camping trip with his family, Kincaid comes upon an otherworldly light Source that holds the technology that transforms him into a superhero. He is often away from home a lot and plays up his mild-mannered persona when he's not fighting crime. He is divorced from Charlie's mom and lives in an incredible bachelor pad that houses The Guard's secret headquarters deep beneath his building. Audiences will know Owen Wilson from his Academy Award-nominated work writing The Royal Tenenbaums alongside frequent collaborator Wes Anderson. As an actor, Wilson is featured in hit movies like Midnight in Paris, Inherent Vice, Zoolander, Cars, and as Mobius in the Disney+ series Loki. He will next be seen starring alongside Tiffany Haddish and Rosario Dawson in 2023's Haunted Mansion.

Playing Ansel Argon, Michael Peña is the main villain of Secret Headquarters and carries around a mighty ego throughout most of the movie. Argon is the CEO of Argon Tactical, a failing weapons manufacturer who needs the technology that The Guard posseses in order to create weapons of mass destruction. He tracks Charlie and his friends to the location of The Guard's secret headquarters, as he attempts to find the Source before The Guard returns to his sci-fi man cave. Michael Peña has had a lengthy career in critically acclaimed work such as Crash, World Trade Center, End of Watch, American Hustle, and The Martian. For Pena, Secret Headquarters is not his first go-around with the superhero genre as he has costarred in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp. Pena will next be seen reprising his role of Luis in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Captain Sean Irons is a pilot who stumbles upon the Source at the beginning of Secret Headquarters at the same time that Jack Kincaid discovers it. The Source chooses Kincaid over Irons and explodes in front of the two men, giving Kincaid superpowers and Irons a burned face. Irons holds a substantial grudge against Kincaid for a decade, teaming up with Argon to find The Guard and use the Source for other purposes. His intentions may be good, but he has surrounded himself with bad men, which makes Irons one of the villains in this movie. Williams is best known for his work on ABC's Grey's Anatomy, as well as a Tony-nominated turn on Broadway this year in the revival of Take Me Out.

As Charlie, actor Walker Scobell is the prototypical lead of Secret Headquarters, appearing in almost every scene of the movie. Charlie has a crush on Maya, who seems to be a bit more mature than Charlie. He adopts a group of friends who come to his dad's house one day after school, accidentally discovering the headquarters of The Guard through a secret passageway in Kincaid's home. Playing around with the technology in the headquarters, the gang of young misfits discover the infinite power of the Source as vow to keep it safe from harm's way no matter the cost. It's Charlie and his friends' antics that provide much needed heart and hilarity to this otherwise comic book like film. Walker Scobell may not have a lot of movies under his belt just yet, but he is best known for his feature film debut as Young Adam in The Adam Project. He will next star in the television series version of Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

Keith L. Williams as Berger - One of Charlie's friends at school who helps keep the Source safe. He is best known as Lucas in Good Boys.

Momona Tamada as Maya - Maya is Charlie's crush and becomes one of the friends who discover the secret headquarters of The Guard. Tamada is mostly known for her work as Young Lara Jean in the To All the Boys franchise and The Baby-Sitters Club.

Abby James Witherspoon as Lizzie - Lizzie is a preppy yet fun friend of Charlie's who enjoys posting everything in her life on social media. Witherspoon is the niece of actor Reese Witherspoon, and before Secret Headquarters, she has been featured in Hot Pursuit. She will next appear in I Would Have Kissed You.
