Beauty and the Beast star Luke Evans is getting ready to play another hateable character after Gaston, as he steps into the role of Scrooge in the upcoming animated Scrooge: A Christmas Carol. He's joined by Oliva Colman as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Jonathan Pryce as Jacob Marley, Johnny Flynn as Bob Cratchit, Jessie Buckley as Isabel Fezziwig, as well as Fra Fee, Giles Terera, Trevor Dion Nicholas, and James Cosmo. 

Noah J. Ricketts, who has appeared in American Gods and High Fidelity, has joined the cast of Showtime’s upcoming gay limited series Fellow Travelers. Fellow Travelers tells the volatile love story of two very different men (played by Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey) who meet in the shadow of McCarthy-era Washington. Ricketts will play Frankie Hines, a drag performer who works in Bomer’s character’s favorite underground gay bar.

Sex Lives of College Girls star Midori Francis has joined ABC’s medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. Along with other new cast members Alexis Floyd and Niko Terho, she’ll play a first-year surgical resident at Grey Sloan for the upcoming 19th season. Francis’ character is named Mika Yasuda, and is described as “a middle child with eight siblings. She is used to being overlooked and underestimated and uses it to her advantage. Mika is dealing with overwhelming student loans from med school, but she’s scrappy and confident she can make it in the program and rise to the top.”

Queer Australian comedian Demi Lardner is joining the voice cast for Hulu’s upcoming series Koala Man. The series also stars Michael Cusack (who also created the series) as Koala Man and his son, Liam, Sarah Snook, who plays Koala Man’s wife, and Hugh Jackman, who plays Big Greg.

Lardner will play Alison, Liam’s twin sister with “an almost sociopathic preoccupation with being popular.” She has “a list of all the coolest kids and a plan to destroy them so she can rise the ranks. To do so, Alison tries to distance herself from Liam, Vicky, and Koala Man, staying laser-focused on becoming The Most Powerful Girl in School.”
